Builders Session #1

We held our very first Dust's Session for Builders a month ago, an exciting gathering of the Dust Builder Community. This event was an opportunity for builders to come together, share their experiences, and explore how AI is transforming our work lives.

💌
Email us at team@dust.tt if you want to get a copy of the instructions behind Alan, Pennylane, and Payfit's assistants.

The session started with demos from builders at three of Europe's leading tech unicorns: Rémi from Alan, Éléonore and Romain from Pennylane, and Alexandre from Payfit. Each of them walked us through their journey of creating Dust assistants, before diving into how their custom assistants are enhancing human capabilities at their respective companies. Afterward, the community enjoyed a lively fireside chat, where attendees of all technical backgrounds exchanged ideas on AI's future role in the workplace.

Here's a glance at the pioneering companies that joined us:

👩‍⚕️ Alan: A leading European health insurance provider, Alan streamlines healthcare access and improves service delivery.

🏢 Pennylane: This company provides a comprehensive finance management platform that helps businesses manage their financial operations more clearly and efficiently.

👯 Payfit: Specializing in automating payroll and HR processes, Payfit simplifies these essential business functions to enhance organizational efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Alan

Rémi, a Product Manager at Alan, kicked things off with an energizing discussion on how the company is using AI to refine its sales strategies. One of Alan's main goals using Dust is to streamline routine sales tasks, allowing the team to shift their focus from mundane tasks to more meaningful client-focused activities.

The Dust assistants Alan developed have been a tremendous success, allowing employees to save time and tailor client interactions more effectively.

An impressive 87% of Alan's employees now use custom Dust assistants on a weekly basis.

Alan significantly improved various facets of their sales process by creating the following assistants:

  • @AccountSummary: Automates the generation of client account summaries, enabling sales teams to spend 50% less time on prospecting.
  • @PainPointsAnalysis: A complement to @AccountSummary, this assistant Identifies specific areas where clients may need additional support or services.
  • @TailorTips: Offers customized sales strategy suggestions based on customer data, allowing for a more personalized engagement strategy.
  • @OutboundEmail: Creates customized prospecting emails, ensuring that first contact resonates with potential clients on a more meaningful level.
  • @MeetingRecap: Automatically generates concise summaries of sales meetings and captures the essential points and action items.
  • @EmailRecap: Provides summaries of email communications, ensuring important details are noticed.

Pennylane

Next, Éléonore and Romain took the stage to describe how Pennylane enhances customer support through AI. By using Dust assistants to tackle routine queries, they have freed up the care team to dive deeper into meaningful client interactions.

Working together from different teams, Éléonore– Care Lead, and Romain– Engineers, played a crucial role in developing these assistants. Their joint efforts have achieved significant improvements for Pennylane: automated responses have enhanced the speed and consistency of support, and by streamlining access to information, they've eliminated the need for manual document searches

Some of Éléonore and Romain's most popular assistants include:

  • @CSAssistant: This assistant operates within Slack to provide real-time, accurate responses to customer queries.
The assistant has dramatically streamlined the company’s customer support by handling 30 to 50 daily conversations.
  • @TechExpert: Quickly resolves technical queries by tapping into the company's tech documentation, saving valuable time and eliminating the hassle of manual searches.
  • @QualitiveFeedback: Parses customer feedback for insights that aid user research and product development.
  • @Metabase: Generates SQL queries from plain text, allowing the team to interact with their Data Warehouse easily.

Payfit

Lastly, Alexandre shared Payfit's strategy for supercharging the customer support team with custom assistants. At the heart of Payfit's approach is a tiered strategy consisting of a standard assistant for initial inquiries backed by specialized assistants that can address more complex issues. Using this approach, the Payfit team has improved response times and guaranteed that customers receive fast, accurate answers.

Currently, Payfit employees have access to the following Dust assistants:

  • @SupportAssistant: Acts as the first line of support and is supplemented by specialized assistants for targeted concerns.
  • @PastTicketsAnalysis: Analyzes historical support tickets to pinpoint common issues and streamline solutions.
  • @LegalQueryAssistant: Provides quick, reliable answers to legal queries, significantly improving the team's ability to handle complex questions.

Alexandre and the builder team at Payfit are also continuing to enhance Payfit teams' workflow by developing assistants that will:

  • Replicate user personas for more empathetic interactions
  • Un-bias and improve job offers
  • Empower content teams across different countries

A Fireside Chat and Beyond

After the builder demos, the audience settled in for an engaging fireside chat. It was a great chance for everyone to exchange ideas about where AI is headed and how it can continue transforming the workplace for the better. We even got to show off some of the new features and updates we've been working on at Dust, all of which have been designed with our community of builders and users in mind.

The fireside chat wrapped up the event, and seeing our community so engaged and ready to take what they learned back to their teams was inspiring. Looking forward, we’re excited to keep these conversations going so that the Dust community can continue to learn from one another. Here'swe're to more sessions, more collaborations, and more breakthroughs.
