Engineering Night #2: All things LLMs

Last Wednesday, we hosted our second Engineering Night in Paris, bringing together technical folks for discussions and connection!

The event featured three insightful presentations from industry experts:
Elie Bakouch from Hugging Face shed light on what is the day-to-day life of a researcher at HF. He dug into different LLM pre-training optimization techniques. His presentation highlighted how methods like optimizer selection remain crucial areas of research in pursuit of better training efficiency and results.
Guillaume Lemaitre, Chief ML Officer at :probabl, followed with a hands on demonstration of the Google’s Data Science Agent showing how LLMs are revolutionizing access to Data Science and highlighting that even though agents are constantly getting smarter they are still not able to achieve human-level capabilities.
Our own Henry Fontanier showcased Dust's approach to AI-powered data visualization. Henry's talk explored the technical challenges of letting AI agents generate visualizations securely in browser, from sandboxing untrusted code to efficiently handling large datasets.

The energy was electric; and our courtyard buzzed with engaging conversations that lasted well into the evening! We're grateful to our speakers and the 80+ engineers and researchers who joined us, making this evening a success.
Following the positive feedback from our first two editions, we're committed to making Engineering Night a regular gathering for Paris's engineering community. Stay updated on future events by following us on LinkedIn or subscribing to our Lu.ma page.
Stay tuned, the best is yet to come !
